Marco Lucchesi was born on December 9, 1963, in Rio de Janeiro. The son of Elena Dati and Egidio Lucchesi, his passion for knowledge and music emerged in childhood. Lucchesi is fluent in more than twenty languages. Since he was a boy, his dream was to communicate with the world, which he pursued through letters and other forms of communication. One of his major achievements is the broad distribution of books across all regions of Brazil to establish libraries. He signed agreements that promoted literature and reading, particularly benefiting socially and culturally disadvantaged communities in Brazil and abroad. Lucchesi served as President of the Brazilian Academy of Letters from 2018 to 2021, during which his activities extended beyond the institution’s walls. He established partnerships and agreements that fostered necessary communication between Western and Eastern countries. Currently, he serves as the President of the National Library Foundation, located in Rio de Janeiro.
